The human brain can differentiate between about 10 million different colours, however our ability to interpret and describe them varies widely. So, making sure that the right colour of limestone is used is not as simple as looking with the naked eye.

Period properties provide a distinguished charm that is difficult to recreate in newer built properties. Wooden beams, high ceilings, bay windows and traditional fireplaces are just some of the charms that you might find.

Whatever stone you decide to choose for the exterior of your property or elements of your property’s interior, it will need to be well maintained. Regardless of which stone is used – marble, granite or limestone – if it is not installed correctly or properly cared for, problems will become apparent that will shorten its lifespan.

At the end of 2016 we were delighted to have the standard of workmanship of our company in the restoration and conservation of period and stone properties recognised with the presentation of two awards at the recent annual dinner of the Leicestershire and Rutland Joint Consultative Committee for the Building Industry.
