Restoration and Conservation

“Conserving the past ………. “

In order to successfully repair and restore a building of some age an in-depth knowledge is needed of the materials and building techniques originally employed in its construction in order to assess and investigate the origins and causes of the damage.

The services we offer extend to –

  • Thoroughly investigating the causes of damage and the consequential reactions to it and making a full survey
  • Providing a report of our findings
  • Offering an assessment of the works required and their estimated costs
  • Designs and drawings as necessary

All of which enable the project to be managed successfully, and in the best time frame.

Renovating and extending period properties.

The most successful renovations and extensions of buildings are carried out in sympathy and harmony with the main building. Wherever possible we use locally sourced, recycled materials or, if new are used, carefully selected matching materials.

The original lime mortar in the building is sent for analysis so that the new mortar can be made to match and so contribute to a near seamless finish between the original and the newly restored/extended.

In 2016 we were delighted that the ethos of our company was recognised at an awards ceremony by “Leicestershire and Rutland Joint Consultative Committee for the Building Industry” who said of our workmanship –

“The outstanding skill and care used to carry out the replacement stonework is self-evident and very pleasing on the eye and will, no doubt, stand the test of time.”
